impuls 2025

With impuls 2025 over, I am left with wonderful memories from the festival, during which I had two works premiered and many new friends and connections made!

As part of the Intermedia Collaboration Workshop, which is led by the groundbreaking composer Pierre Jodlowski and legendary performer Christian Dierstein, I created on-site with wonderful percussionists/performers “temporal motion for percussion trio electronics and video projection”. The work emphasizes the post-human experience by focusing on the backbone technique of industrial engineering, motion study, developed by Gilbreths. The work is created by and dedicated to wonderful performers and dear friends Rita Sousa e Castro Couto Soares, João Miguel Braga Simões and SeongYeon Kong.

My second premiere was for my trio “names stay on the wall” for baritone saxophone, piano and percussion. The premiere performance was masterfully carried out by the members of Trio Accanto, Marcus Weiss and Christian Dierstein, as well as the wonderful pianist Rodrigo Roces.

Finally, as part of the composition academy, I had an unforgettable one-to-one class with legendary composer Chaya Czernowin, during which we exchanged intriguing ideas on compositional time, expression and unique sound characters I tried to bring out so far in my compositional output.
